Anything I need to know before I come?
Please try not to do the following things:
-
to drink too much alcohol the night before you come.
-
not to wear any makeup. If you do want to try with the bare minimum
-
moisturise your legs

You could wear loose fitting clothing particularly on the lower half as I will need to get to your lower leg to insert some of the needles.
(alternatively you can take them off!)
Be prepared to leave with looking a little dishevelled!

What to expect during a cosmetic acupuncture treatment.
The treatment starts with a consultation where we compile a wish list of outcomes you would like from the treatment.
I then insert body point acupuncture needles followed by face needles. The face needles and very small and delicate.
Once all the needles are in we may use Light therapy or a mask for about 15 minutes whilst the needles work their magic.
Once the needles are removed we may do a neck, face, head massage.
How will my skin look straight after?
Generally a little pink, after all the aim is to stimulate. Apart from that that's it. We wait for the body to do it's stuff.
Best not to wear makeup for that day if possible.
How long till I see results with Cosmetic Acupuncture?
The results of the stimulation of collagen with cosmetic acupuncture becomes evident at 5 - 7 weeks. The skin around the mouth and cheeks feel tighter and lines are beginning to soften. The soft tissue of the face feels firmer and denser and the face looks and feels plumper.
How often do I need to come?
The majority of people see improvements after just six sessions. After that, you can go into a maintenance stage where you get the treatment every 4 to 8 weeks
How long will it last?
The effects of facial acupuncture are cumulative and last up to 3 - 5 years after a course , with maintenance. Each patient is different.
What is the peel?
A natural blend of acids and enzymes, skin peels exfoliate your skin and kick-start cell turnover; this means removing the dead cells from the top layer and encouraging new cell growth, revealing the newer, smoother skin beneath. Peels also stimulate collagen and elastin production to help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
A chemical solution is applied to the face or certain areas on the body, which is left on for a few minutes to penetrate the epidermis and deeper layers, to exfoliate and remodel the skin. The powerful blend of ingredients help to treat many skin concerns, including reducing the appearance of open pores, redness, rosacea, age spots and blemishes, treating acne, correcting sun damage, pigmentation, and smoothing fine lines. The results can be life-transforming.
How often do I need a peel?
If you were heading towards a big occasion I would suggest a fortnightly peel for 3 weeks. Alternatively once a month works well to boost the skin.
What does LED light do?
The benefits of LED light therapy are manifold. They include treating acne, regulating natural oil production, stimulating collagen and elastin and minimising redness and wrinkles.
